The Hrabák Forest Park in Most was created on a former quarry dump, from which wild vegetation has grown. We have created a basic architectural and landscape concept to open up discussion about the future of this unique place. At the moment, visitors can discover custom-designed furniture based on a unified visual identity that also functions as an artistic element in the landscape. These installations are part of the "Wake Up Hrabák" initiative. The striking entrance gate—a symbol of transformation and transition between the old and the new—clearly signals the beginning of the forest park's transformation. An informal seating area has been created for young people at the intersection of the busiest paths, encouraging socializing and community life. The youngest visitors are attracted by a pole trail describing the magic circle of the circusplatz, which encourages playful movement and discovery.
The next step in activating Hrabák Forest Park was to organize three participatory days with current and future users. The aim was to survey as wide a range of visitors as possible through questionnaires and direct discussion. The interventions based on our architectural and landscape design concept then helped to outline how the park could be transformed in the future. The first day featured a guided walk through the forest park and a workshop in which participants jointly designed an orientation and navigation system. The second day focused primarily on children and sports activities. The third day was devoted to environmental topics. The participation days confirmed the great interest of the public, as evidenced by a total of 354 completed questionnaires. All the suggestions obtained, together with the concept, form the basis for commissioning a follow-up architectural and landscape study and further steps in the development of the Hrabák Forest Park.
