Na Skalce

The aim of the proposal is to revitalize the existing playground within the residential area in Humpolec. The aim was to create a high-quality space for sports, games, and relaxation for all age groups. The design is inspired by the dominant landscape feature — a rock formation — whose shape is reflected in the overall geometry and is reinforced by concrete elements that visually reflect the motif of the rock formation rising from the ground, thus unifying the entire space. The new multifunctional playground uses the existing floor and part of the fencing, which will be refurbished and supplemented with basketball hoops and soccer goal structures. The southern edge of the playground has been shifted, expanding the space around the fence and connecting it to the adjacent extension of the slope, which serves as a play and recreation area. Below it is a children's playground with a gravel impact surface. In the northeastern part, under the trees, a workout zone with seating and a concrete "stone" is being created, which can be used as a play and exercise element. The northwestern part consists of a universal paved area for meetings, events, and riding bicycles, skateboards, or children with balance bikes.

/ Multifunctional playground

The revitalization of the playground utilizes the existing structure of the playground and plans to refurbish the existing fencing to the maximum extent possible. The southern edge of the playground has been moved to extend the top of the adjacent slope. Basketball hoops and soccer goal structures will be added to the fencing, extending outwards from the playground to prevent collisions with other sports activities.

/ Paved area

In the northwestern part, a universal paved area is proposed, which can be used for gatherings during events or as a place for riding balance bikes, bicycles, or skateboards. The geometry is inspired by the morphology of the rock formation. Natural stone and concrete surfaces blend together here.

/ Playground and the extended slope

The extension of the slope serves as a recreational and play area. Individual play elements are scattered across the pebble-covered area, which also provides access to slides and climbing frames on the slope. The play elements are complemented by wooden furniture with variable uses. The color scheme is coordinated with the multifunctional area. The existing carousel and ping-pong table are to be refurbished.

/ Workout

In the northeastern part, there is a workout area in the shade of trees. This feature brings another age group to the site. Around the area itself, there are seats and a concrete “stone” that can also be used as an exercise element and a place to sit.
