In our design, the memorial is not a solitary monument. Instead, we are taking the approach of an interactive landscape memorial that tells the story of the Prague Uprising and draws visitors into it. The user actively experiences the entire space by engaging various sensations and senses, thus strengthening their connection to the historical event.
The deepening of the memorial towards its center emphasizes the weight of the historical moment. The tilted surfaces evoke the atmosphere of the barricades of the time. The whole space is completed by four objects symbolizing the four days of the Prague Uprising. Atypical elements function not only on the educational level, but also as non-traditional play elements encouraging interaction with the memorial using the four basic senses - movement, hearing, sight and touch.
The memorial should lead us not only to think how we would feel or behave in a similar situation, but also how important it is to constantly remember these events.
