The city decided to implement the idea of revitalizing an unused field into a new park through an architectural competition, which we participated in with the landscape studio Terra Florida. The main conceptual idea is to link the site to the interface between town and village with a view of Mount Říp. The proposed network of pedestrian paths is based on the connection of important nodes in the area and then defines the location of the three main points of the forest park. The first is a skatepark in the southern part, smoothly connected to the existing cycle trail. The second point is the circular, multifunctional café building, located in the heart of the park, allowing for a variety of uses and events. The third point is an artificially created hill, which is to be the opposite companion of the Říp mountain, a phenomenon of the area. The main design principles are simplicity, sustainability and clear visual legibility.
