A private investor approached us with a wish to have a simple skate plaza next to their house for relaxed sessions with friends. Instead of limiting the riding to a narrow strip beside the house, we came up with an idea to expand the brief — allowing the plaza to extend into the front area of the house. The result is a more open space for skating with better flow.
The strip of obstacles next to the house is slightly sunken to protect the facade from impact with skateboards. The front area is designed as an open plaza where a mobile rail or other obstacles can be placed depending on the mood. In one corner, we designed a bank for turning, which, along with the radius at the end of the narrow strip, ensures smooth movement throughout the entire space.
