The outdated metal skatepark in Stromovka Park in České Budějovice has been replaced by a modern concrete area with street obstacles, a basketball court, and a relaxation zone with a barbecue area.
The local skateboarding community was involved in the project, not only pushing for the renovation as part of the city's participatory budget, but also actively participating in the design of the obstacles themselves.
Graphics are also an important part of the project. The color scheme of the inner asphalt area and obstacles enlivens the entire space and visually breaks up the concrete surface.
The new skatepark perfectly complements the popular Stromovka Park and expands its possibilities with another attractive space for sports, relaxation, and socializing.
