Skatepark Velešín
Skatepark Velešín
The architectural and landscape study replaces the existing, technically outdated metal skatepark on an asphalt surface with a new concrete one. The design adds a pumptrack, parkour elements, street furniture, and the necessary technical and transport infrastructure.
The main entrance is connected to a footpath with rest areas. The path leads along the skatepark towards a nearby housing estate and is part of the overall master plan for the municipality developed by the Cityupgrade studio, with the construction of the skatepark representing its first phase.
The design of the skatepark itself is based on the division of areas with increasing levels of difficulty. The larger section, inspired by the SLS race style, is located along the school fence and ends with a radius connected to an elevated platform with a bowl. The street plaza with smaller obstacles is located near the footpath and connects to the existing greenery.
The design includes street furniture, a drinking fountain, and lighting, which increase user comfort and allow for extended use of the facility in the evening hours.
In the main entrance area, the skatepark is connected to the school grounds by an asphalt surface suitable for parkour, basketball, or an informal traffic playground. Two gates are proposed at this location, allowing the school grounds to be opened up and connected to the skatepark to form a single functional unit.
