Based on the demands of the local community, we designed a street skateplaza that is completely made of granite. Its shape, elements and materials were inspired by historical places associated with the origins of skateboarding in our country. Specifically, it references traditional town squares and iconic granite monuments that are part of our cultural identity. This design combines functionality and aesthetics, creating a space not only for sport but also for social gatherings. This project has a strong symbolic and practical meaning for the local community. The skateplaza is the result of several years of effort, during which skateboarders and other residents of the city tirelessly pushed for their vision. Together, they organized public discussions, petitions, and meetings with local government to prove how important such a space is to their lives. The skateplaza now serves not only as a place for sports, but also as a centre for creative expression and mutual support. This success is proof that community collaboration and perseverance can make a real difference.
