We won the architectural competition for the new centre of the Prague Libuš municipality!

Among the biggest problems of this district is the lack of a central place for informal gatherings, public events, amenities and relaxation in a pleasant climate.

The area of the current square with a parking lot and the unused courtyard are being connected as much as possible, with different character, function and intimacy in each section. We are activating the amenities in the existing buildings and turning all life inwards towards the new village centre, which again levels the pavement along Libušská Street. We are bringing significant spaces with vaulted ceilings back into the daily lives of residents and turning a brief pause into a destination. At the same time, we are designing a site with sufficient areas for variable use when diverse cultural and community events and major events are held. We visually and functionally connect the complicated courtyard area hidden behind the existing wall to a more active plaza.

The historic walls and water wells directly participate in new activities in the public space and through their interactivity encourage the visitor to continue further into the area. The flowing water and connecting green belt of new vegetation helps to create a pleasant microclimate across all sections of the new Libuše Centre.
